“What NOT To Do When Marketing To Medical Doctors…”
.
You can easily shoot yourself in the foot if you’re not careful when marketing to doctors, dentists or chiro’s.However, the biggest mistakes are completely avoidable if you take a step back and think things through.Today, I’m going to share with you my biggest breakthroughs and revelations about getting clients in the medical niche.
So let’s take a look at the top three mistakes consultants make:
Huge Mistake #1: Don’t skip the patient care connection in all the marketing services you’re trying to sell a doctor, dentist or chiro.
Regardless of the service you’re offering, you must be able to connect it back to helping the doctor find more people to help who have a pressing problem they can solve.
If you don’t tie your marketing service offering into the bigger mission or picture that most doctor’s feel about their profession, you instantly repel them.
That’s why you can’t just focus on “make more money” and you definitely shouldn’t use 95% of the sales language that we normally hear in the internet marketing world. That’s a huge turnoff.
You should include a patient care component in all of your marketing collateral so that the medical professional will know that not only will you help them get more patients, you’ll help them cement their position as a patient care advocate in the communities that they serve.
Huge Mistake #2: Don’t get cocky and think that you are the only one who can help a doctor or dentist grow their practice.
Alot of times doctors receive marketing messages in the mail or in their inbox that are downright insulting.
Basically it boils down to this: you can’t assume that all doctor’s marketing sucks and that they don’t know what good advertising.
Why not?
Well because there are some giants in the medical marketing space that have dominated the medical niche for many years.
Marketing giants like Dan Kennedy, Woody Oakes and Bill Blatchford just to name a few.
That means that tens (maybe even hundreds) of thousands of doctors, dentists and chiropractors have been exposed to their teachings so they are definitely fully aware of good marketing.
However, with that being said, even those marketing giants haven’t reached EVERY doctor or dentist.
Plus not every doctor or dentist meshes with Dan, Bill or Woody’s personality or prices, so there’s your opportunity.
Especially if you focus on becoming THE doctor or dentist practice marketing expert in your local geographic area. Which you definitely should be doing anyway.
Huge Mistake #3: Don’t neglect to weave your proof and credibility elements throughout your marketing.
Weaving proof and credibility elements throughout your marketing could be as simple as including a hyperlink in the signature of your email to a high value article you’ve written or video you recorded.
Or this could mean including a picture of your book or marketing course in a FB or LI ad that you’re running.
Proof, credibility and work samples are important to positioning yourself for high ticket clients, but they’re especially crucial in the medical niche. Without them I guarantee that you’re missing out on deals you should be closing.
With all the done-for-you tools and resources that are available to consultants today, there’s no reason why you don’t have proof of expertise in your marketing campaigns. It’s time to add it to your consulting business and start closing more high ticket deals.
