The Top 3 Things Every Consultant Needs To Know About Consulting In The Restaurant Niche
.
I’m going to be brutally honest with you today.
See here’s the truth:
The restaurant niche isn’t for every consultant.
It’s not even for most consultants.
Yep, that’s contrary to what you’re hearing everywhere else, but it’s a fact that I’ve grudgingly come to accept over the past few years.
I just wished I’d learned it sooner.
In fact, many consultants have emailed me this past week and said they haven’t even gotten so much as a nibble from restaurant owners.
That’s a tough pill to swallow, especially if you’ve invested hundreds of dollars on restaurant niche software, courses and trainings.
So, what’s the deal with the restaurant niche that makes it so darn difficult to crack open?
Here’s what I’ve found to be true for the restaurant niche:
1. Restaurant owners have been hammered for many years by ad reps from newspapers, television & radio stations, coupon clippers and everybody else.
So, they’re jaded when it comes to spending more money with another marketing tactic or gimmick.
If you’re not prepared to prove to them that what you’re doing will work (aka free trial, sampler, teaser service etc.) then be prepared to hit a stone wall.
2. Restaurant owners tend to do what they’ve always done and shy away from doing new stuff.
Which is why a fishbowl collecting dusty business cards and a 1970’s cash register are so prevalent in restaurants to this day.
Don’t come in asking them to change everything they’re doing.
That’s deal suicide.
Try to find that one thing that you can improve upon to help them to immediately get a surge of diners and cash.
3. Restaurant owners don’t regularly invest in sales training for themselves and their staff. Therefore, they’re not in the “better my best” mindset.
That’s why I always offer to do some basic staff training to maximize the marketing strategies I’m implementing.
I’d advise you to offer that as well. It makes it a no-brainer for the restaurant owner.
Plus nobody else is offering that.
Trust me. I ask.
Now those three things are just three consulting hacks that I’ve come to learn about the restaurant consulting niche.
However, that’s not to
See you at the top,
